The Resource Development Group is best known for our expertise and success in planning and directing capital and/or endowment campaigns. For nearly a quarter century, we have counseled Jewish institutions through the challenges and opportunities of major, multi-year fundraising appeals. We tailor our services to the unique needs of each client. We typically provide a combination of full, on-site Campaign Management and Campaign Counsel, depending on the needs at different phases of the campaign. We always strive to maintain campaign momentum, accelerate decision-making, and optimize results.

A Feasibility Study, which is widely viewed as an essential precursor to a successful campaign, is the beginning of a dialogue with key stakeholders regarding the organization’s vision and future. It involves in-person, confidential interviews with current and potential benefactors with the ability to significantly impact the outcome of the campaign. An in-depth questionnaire is developed to test six key success indicators. A key deliverable of a study is a forecast of the potential goal that can be achieved.

Everyone knows about the 80/20 rule, but today the better performing organizations are generating over 90% of their contributions from less than 10% of their donors. A properly planned and implemented major gifts program institutionalizes a management system to cultivate donors, and to secure gifts tailored to their interests and the organizations’ needs. We bring to the table decades of professional expertise and exceptional interpersonal skills to assist our clients to maximize leadership giving and sustain institutions of excellence.

With the massive intergenerational transfer of wealth currently underway, testamentary giving represents the greatest potential source of major philanthropic commitments in the Jewish community. It is unfortunately one of the least effectively utilized fundraising components, and as a result, often significant contributions are “left on the table.” We can help you develop an effective planned giving program that includes marketing, materials, special events, endowment fund governance, gift acceptance policies, donor cultivation, recognition, and the developing a legacy giving culture. 

The annual appeal is the life blood of any charitable organization. We start with a Development Audit that measures fundraising performance along several indices against industry averages of others in their subgroup. We then assist or clients to implement a variety of proven fundraising strategies that enable them to achieve optimum results.

We help our clients in crafting communications plans that incorporate strategies for targeted messaging with members, donors and prospective donors.  We provide expertise in creating a variety of collateral fundraising materials including major donor brochures, capital and endowment campaign case statements, annual reports, websites and video.

Strong, engaged boards don’t just happen. The most successful have a philanthropic culture that is nurtured over time and where members embrace their fundraising responsibility. They are strong advocates for the institution and contribute at exemplary levels. We design board development programs that provide ongoing orientation and education your board members require. We also conduct board assessments and facilitate training session and retreats.

Effective information systems are critical to the effectiveness of charitable organizations. We offer variety of services in the area of information technology, either as part of our campaign management services or as a standalone service. For those with a system that don’t seem to be working, we can conduct an audit and recommend a solution that either fixes of the current system or replaces it.  We assess your requirements, identify possible options and help you select the best system for your needs.
